4 Reasons Why Learning Self-defense Is Important For Children

Self-defense will enable women to develop self-confidence, empower them, and enable them to find safety in difficult situations. It is imperative that women do this; They shouldn’t feel like many of them. One of the advantages of martial conceal carry class arts is that it focuses on growth as a person. Compared to other sports, martial arts are not exactly dependent on the effort of the team. The burden of “disappointing the team” does not weigh heavily on them, especially the children.

When it comes to learning self-defense, there are many ways you, and your whole family, can benefit from it. Some of the values taught by martial arts are integrity, humility, honor, respect, courage, and discipline. Throughout life, people are destined to fail, but martial arts teach us to accept failure and see it as an opportunity to improve ourselves.

You need to be disciplined enough to make sure you’re learning the lessons you’re being taught. Regular practice is a requirement and discipline will play an important role in ensuring you keep your skills honed. Identifying a dangerous solution, learning to assess your surroundings, and knowing what to do when faced physically and mentally with an attacker is at the heart of self-defense. This month, SAY was honored to host Sensei Isaiah Wisdom at the Dream Center to host a free self-defense workshop for our youth. Sensei Isaiah is the owner of New School Aikido in Santa Rosa and has been a martial arts educator in Sonoma County for over 20 years.

Finally, and of course, self-defense classes will give you peace of mind that your family members are safe. You don’t have to worry as much when your partner or children go out, travel alone, or in any other situation where they need confidence and self-sufficiency. Learning self-defense also helps your family get “smarter on the street,” which can help when it comes to making judgments about what kind of situations are or aren’t safe.

In addition to physical skills, children learn valuable mental skills through self-defense and martial arts. While practicing their skills through repetition, children also practice not to give up, to stay in control and to stay on their task. Self-defense classes come in a variety of forms, from different styles of martial arts to a basic self-defense class designed to help you flee from an attacker.
